The workshop will bring together an international group of observation-based research, modeling, lab, and policy experts to discuss the state of knowledge of extreme air pollution events.

The Air Pollution Extremes workshop will take place November 1-2, 2018 on Columbia University’s Morningside Campus. The workshop, hosted by the Columbia University Initiative on Extreme Weather and Climate, and organized by researchers from Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia Engineering, and Colorado State University, will bring together an international group of observation-based research, modeling, lab, and policy experts to discuss the state of knowledge of extreme air pollution events.

Topics of discussion include observations and modeling of extreme air pollution events; forecasting pollution events; and the science, policy, and health nexus.

The Center for Climate and Life is pleased to provide support to this important event. Check out the full program and the workshop discussion on Twitter using #APEXCU.
