Two scientists funded by the Center for Climate and Life are among the researchers on the 2019 Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers list.

Published November 19, the list identifies scientists who produced multiple papers between 2008 and 2018 that rank in the top one percent by citations for their field and year of publication.

Richard Seager, a climate scientist at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, received funding from the Center’s partnership with World Surf League-PURE to study how the ocean drives weather and climate extremes. Seager is also a member of the Center’s advisory board.

Park Williams, a bioclimatologist at Lamont-Doherty, is a 2016 Center for Climate and Life Fellow. Williams examines the influence of climate change on drought and wildfires; his research has shown that in many cases, the warming climate is the decisive driver in California’s wildfires.
